At Bendigo Baptist Church we believe that we are all called to care for one another. We believe that a healthy church looks like a connected and caring community. There are many ways that support, love and care are given and received at any one time. Sometimes this is obvious, often it’s mostly a lot of small, unseen expressions of love. As we grow larger as a church, we need structures to help us move in step with one another, ensuring we grow deeper as well.

How we care

Life Groups

We believe that God would have us shape our lives in a way that has us regularly and intentionally connecting with people who we know well and who know us well- like a family, Life Group or Ministry Team.

Prayer

We believe that every circumstance should be brought before God. God’s heart is for His children to speak with Him during the good times and the challenging, knowing that He hears us and answers prayer.

Food Tidings

Our meals ministry team are wonderful at showing love during challenging times through a home cooked meal.

Crisis Care & Pastoral Counselling

For those experiencing a crisis and need more specialised care, pastoral counselling, resources and/or referral to professional services is available.

Visitation Care

Whether it be a time of illness, tragedy, hardship or shut in, our team of carers, including our pastors, enjoy sharing God’s love by sitting and listening, praying and sharing communion when this is requested.

Cards

A ministry where words of life are spoken into hearts of those walking through a time of trial, challenge or celebration. Receiving a card containing words of comfort, support and encouragement can be a powerful and affirming gift of love.

Pastoral Care

Ps Michelle Cook

Michelle has been in the role as Pastor of Prayer & Care for 12 years. Chelle has an amazing Bendigo Baptist Church Care team who have humble hearts and quietly care for people. Michelle began her ministry initially working with teenagers. She has served in many ministries over the years, and since then she has served in outreach, women’s, mission teams and planted a church in Yea. Chelle is also a Counsellor & Psychotherapist at The Anna Centre and is passionate about seeing all people restored and healed holistically in mind, body and spirit. Michelle and her husband David have 3 incredible young adult children. Chelle enjoys theatre, reading, and savouring good coffee and food with family and friends.
